The Cost Of Mole Removal
Average prices for Laser - Scalpel - Mole Removal Surgery
The cost of removing a mole varies with the procedure and the physician. Sadly many of these mole removal procedures are out-dated and can cause scarring. Below you will find several ways to remove moles, and the various cost of mole removal.
The Cost of Mole Removal with Scalpel
The cost of mole removal with a scalpel varies between $225 - $300, costs are higher in California, and Washington State, lower in Mississippi, and Georgia. When you remove a mole with a scalpel your doctor will most likely give you a shot to numb the area around the mole, then cut the mole off at the base. Your doctor will then suture the area and give you an antibiotic ointment to prevent any infection. Recovery time is about a month. Scarring is expected.
The Cost of Mole Removal with Laser Light
Exposing the skin to laser light can remove a mole from your skin. The cost of this procedure is higher than any other mole removal procedure. Prices vary from $350 - $650 per treatment. In this mole removal treatment, the doctor will numb the area before the procedure. Once the area is prepared, they put on goggles, and hit the top of the mole with the laser. The treatment takes approximately 15 minutes, and once the mole tissue is destroyed, they close the area with a suture, and send you on your way. The recovery time cannot be listed, due to the fact that most people require several laser treatments to make the mole completely disappear. There is also a study out, published in 2010, that says "using a laser on moles stimulates growth of the tissue, causing mole to reappear". Scarring may also occur.
The Cost of Cryotherapy for Mole Removal - FREEZE
Another method of mole removal is the freezing method, aka Cryotherapy. In this mole removal procedure, your doctor will remove the mole by freezing it off your skin. This mole removal method is NOT painless, it can be quite "uncomfortable", and you know what that means when your doctor says, "this is going to be a little pressure... a bit uncomfortable...The cost of freezing the mole averages around $325 per treatment. Insurance will not cover this type of mole removal.
The Cost of Natural Mole Removal
Natural mole removal products vary in price from $149 - $69. There are several on the market now, but the original mole removal cream is Dermatend. To remove a mole with Dermatend, just apply the cream to the top of the mole, and wait 24 hours. You may cover the area with a bandage while you wait. The next day, remove the bandage, and your mole should look dried up. Then expose the mole to the air -- do not pick at it -- and a few days later the mole will disappear. You can see photos of Dermatend mole removal cream below. P.S. The Dermatend cream, is the only guaranteed method of removing moles from the skin. Your doctor will not guarantee any surgery, Dermatend does.
